About Champneys

Located within the peaceful Hertfordshire countryside only a short distance from London, ChampneysTring has been where flustered city-dwellers have been finding tranquility for many decades.

If you are looking for a place to unwind on a girly weekend away with your best friends, this gorgeous spa will sweep you off your feet. Make the journey 30 miles north-west of London and you’ll feel like you are in another world – listening to the sounds of birdsong rather than car engines and the chatter of crowds. Within the peaceful rolling countryside you can put up your feet and completely relax at ChampneysTring – a world famous health resort with stunning spacious grounds that is known for
pioneering the concept of the holistic healthy holiday.

About Champneys

This gorgeous retreat was originally a medieval estate, comprising a large house build in the French Second Empire style. It was owned by many wealthy Tring families over the ages and in 1871 the grounds and original house were inherited by the Rev. Arthur Sutton Valpy – who replaced the original building with the elegant home that stands there now.

The estate passed through many other owners, until it was purchased by Stanley Lief in 1925 who converted it into a health resort.

The current owner, Stephen Purdew, has owned it since 2002.

ChampneysTring creates the ideal balance between historical elegance and modern luxury. Although the building is set within a classic English stately home, the rooms are modern and are equipped with the most up to date amenities including DVD
players, flat screen televisions and full private bathrooms.

What Can You Do There?

The facilities at ChampneysTring Spa are sumptuous and luxurious. You can soak away your cares in the indoor and outdoor whirlpools, or let the warm humidity ease your muscles in the steam room.

Some of the gloriously indulgent spa treatments include relaxing facials, manicures, pedicures, Champneys Body Wrap, the “Head in the Clouds” massage and much more. The spa menu offers more than 100 different choices, including exotic offerings such as Indian Head Massage or Reiki.

The spa also offers a range of water based treatments, which offer the healing qualities of algae, seawater and marine minerals. If you feel like getting active during your stay, the resort also has two tennis courts, fitness studios with classes, a 25 metre swimming pool and a gym.

This is the ideal place to take your best girlfriends on a relaxing getaway where you can chat, be pampered and completely unwind. You can enjoy some quality time together away from the daily trudge of life and you will come out feeling refreshed and recharged.
